Congratulations to our February Teacher and Student of the Month!
Teacher of the Month: Ms. Barbara Rivera
This is Ms. Rivera's first year at A+ Academy (Secondary), teaching 8th Grade Science. She has been very involved in investing in her 8th grade students and families this academic year, whether it is planning after school parties to celebrate the growth of her students or teaching her students on Fridays to make sure they are successful- Mrs. Rivera is there showing up every day giving 100%! Mrs. Rivera has been working very diligently in helping her middle school students gear up for their upcoming Science STAAR Test. She puts in long hours in the day at school and after school preparing engaging lessons and reviews for her students. So many of Mrs. Rivera's students and families love her, and look up to her with the excellent communication Mrs. Rivera gives her students and families. Mrs. Rivera is very creative in her teaching methods and provides many different/fun learning opportunities for her students. Her students have grown so much in their Science learning over the course of this year thanks to the outstanding hard work, time, and dedication she gives day in and out. Mrs. Rivera is a team player and shows enthusiasm for her students to succeed!



Student of the Month: Rene Mendoza
Rene is not only an excellent student in the classroom, but also serves as a role model for fellow A+ Varsity Soccer teammates. He has been dedicated, passionate, and disciplined soccer player in leading the A+ Varsity Soccer team to the Regional Playoffs. He also played a key role for the past 2 years in the A+ Academy Track and Field accomplishments. Rene embodies the A+ Charter School Mission in representing our A+ community with integrity, reaching his full potential as an athlete and academic scholar and pursuing his educational journey's goals at A+ to graduate in May in order to obtain his vocational certification to start his life's career.
