Abigail Contreras is one of the most involved, committed, hardworking, amazing students on our campus. She is the type of person you can count on. If she says she’ll take care of it, rest easy, she’s got it! Among her long list of accomplishments are the following:
Senior Class president
Student Council Vice president
National Honor Society vice president
Varsity Girls Basketball
Works at El Rods
Works out at Planet Fitness
Abigail has been accepted to Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Texas A&M Texarkana, West Texas A&M, and Texas Woman’s University. She’s narrowed it down to Corpus and West Texas. It’s a tough decision because she likes both schools and both have strong preparation courses for a career in the medical field.
Hopefully you’re inspired by Abigail. You may even want to be more like her! When asked what has contributed most to her success and achievements she mentioned 3 specific things:
One thing she said she would’ve done differently in high school is get involved more from the beginning - starting in 9th grade. She also said she would not have procrastinated as much as she did.
Currently her top priority is deciding which college to attend so she can work on housing at that campus. Dorms usually fill up quickly and she wants to make sure and get in the dorm of her choosing.
We’re super proud of Abigail and wish her great success in her post secondary endeavors. We’re certain she’ll be awesome!
